Ten Ways Add 3D Photos On Facebook Can Improve Your Friends Circle And Likes
Recently Facebook added a new feature in its interface that lets you post 3D versions of portrait mode images for family and friends to see on smartphones, PCs and virtual reality goggles. This new feature adds a whole new dimension to all photos with more depth and movement.
Previously, Facebook had other ways of posting interactive photos, so the idea of posting moving images in Facebook news feed is not new.
At first, one could snap 360-degree photos using a special camera or with the help of a 360-degree smartphone app or panoramic mode on smartphone. Then one would post them as regular photos on Facebook. Secondly, a dedicated '360 photo' feature was added to the Facebook mobile app which enables anyone shoot and post a 3D like image without leaving Facebook.
But this revolutionary new '3D photos' feature is sure to become the most popular because one can upload all the portrait mode photos already taken with one's smartphone.
Compatible Devices
Any smartphone with two lenses feature on the read camera will be ideal to use this totally new feature. But that's not required also if the mobile app can produce similar results. Almost all iPhones support portrait mode photos.

How to Post 3D Photos on Facebook
This special feature was announced by Facebook in May 2018 but it just began rolling out to smartphone users as late as October. If you have not experienced this feature in your android phone, then just update Facebook app and wait for a few days.
To experience this new feature, just go to Facebook and start posting a photo as you would normally do.
Now, in the top right of the empty post you should find a new ellipsis (...). tapping on that will reveal a list of options. Now select '3D Photos' - this will open your album with only portrait mode pictures in it.
As any portrait mode photo is selected, it will be processed automatically as it uploads. You can preview the photo also before posting. Now, tap next, add a caption and 'share'.
How to View 3D Photos on Facebook
Whenever someone uploads a 3D image and you don't know whether the picture you are looking at in your feed is a 3D image, just scroll up and down through feed and you will find the picture is also moving in conjunction. Once you observe this, just tilt your device back and forth to see more depth around the subject of the portrait.
Tips to Add Better 3D Photos on Facebook
- Your subject should be at least 3 to 4 ft from your phone
- Try to capture your subject with both foreground and background to improve depth
- Color of your subject and background must not blend - they must be of different color
- Ensure the subject has some texture
- Avoid shiny or transparent(such as glass) object either in the foreground or background
- Avoid any other added effect of your smartphone
- Better Lighting Effects: Remember a defused light is always better than direct clear sunlight in case of a portrait. If there is bright sunlight in a clear sky, try to shoot your subject under a brilliant colored umbrella. This will add more depth to the subject by displaying highlights and shade.
